DESIGN / HIGHLIGHTS
The Nissan Pathfinder once again offers exceptional levels of versatility, fuel efficiency and full-size comfort for seven passengers. Pathfinder is available in 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive configurations, with all models powered by a fuel-efficient 260-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6.
The attractive interior design includes comfortable seating for seven, along with Pathfinder's innovative EZ Flex Seating System™ with LATCH AND GLIDE™ – an industry first 2nd row tilt and glide seat that allows easy 3rd row access with a child safety seat still installed. A range of available features is also offered, including leather-appointed seating, Around View® Monitor and 13-speaker Bose® Premium Audio system.
The upscale exterior styling presents a smart fusion of signature Nissan styling cues and dynamic strength. The look is adventure-ready with wheel-oriented muscular fenders and a strong, stable stance. The upper body features an open cabin with a low beltline and thin A- and D-pillars, which flow smoothly into the rugged, durable-looking lower body. And, through the use of front and rear spoilers, rear tire deflectors and rear suspension fairings, Pathfinder achieves one of the best aerodynamic performances in the segment – a 0.34 coefficient of drag, representing a 13 percent improvement over the previous generation design.
Pathfinder's unibody platform weighs almost 500 pounds less than the previous generation Pathfinder's body-on-frame design, which helps contribute to the enhanced fuel economy performance. Along with reduced weight, Pathfinder's unibody platform provided the designers an opportunity to create the more aerodynamic exterior without compromising headroom or cargo capacity.
Other exterior details include a wide chrome grille and large aerodynamic headlights, recessed front windshield wipers, chrome door handles and large rear combination lights. An available Dual Panorama Moonroof (now standard on Platinum), with sliding opening front panel and fixed rear glass panel which extends over the 2nd and 3rd rows, combines with the large windows to create an open, airy interior environment.
NOTHING BUT THE BEST - A Mid-Size SUV with Full-Size Comfort
The 3-row/7-passenger Pathfinder combines comfortable seating with the cargo capacity that families need everyday, offering the benefits of a modern crossover with the comfort of a larger SUV. Use of the unibody platform provides numerous benefits, including a flat floor for enhanced interior packaging flexibility and ample space. Overall interior roominess is 173.8 cubic feet (passenger and cargo areas combined).
Beyond just numbers on a specifications sheet, Pathfinder's roominess and unique versatility comes to life in the design of the 2nd and 3rd rows – with exceptional 3rd row access provided by the large rear door openings and the EZ Flex Seating System with 5.5 inches of 2nd row seat travel for ease of entry and exit to the 3rd row. The 60/40-split 2nd row features innovative LATCH AND GLIDE™ technology that allows forward movement and access to the 3rdrow with a child safety seat remaining securely in place (on the passenger curb side).
The 3rd row seat is a 50/50 split-folding design, offering added cargo flexibility, and it also reclines for greater passenger comfort – a feature not offered with other SUVs in class. Both the 2nd and 3rd row seats fold flat for optimal cargo capacity and there is additional under floor storage in the rear cargo area.
Pathfinder's quiet, comfortable interior also includes a wide range of available features, including two rows of rich leather-appointed seating surfaces, heated and cooled front seats, heated 2nd row seats, heated steering wheel, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Start, multiple user memory settings and an advanced Bose® Audio System with 13 speakers.
GO FURTHER. USE LESS FUEL.
The legendary Pathfinder: rugged, capable, tough. And good on gas. To maximize fuel efficiency, the frame, drivetrain, and even the climate control system are built with lightweight components. An aerodynamic exterior and the Xtronic CVT—our most advanced transmission ever—also cut down its consumption.
The Nissan Pathfinder provides drivers with the levels of responsive acceleration, braking, handling and ride comfort expected of a Nissan product. It utilizes a refined drivetrain featuring a 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine mated to a next-generation Xtronic transmission) – helping provide fuel economy rated at 27 mpg highway / 20 mpg city and 23 mpg combined for the 2WD model and 26 mpg highway / 19 mpg city and 22 mpg combined for the 4WD S, SV and SL models (26/19/21 mpg for Platinum).
The 3.5-liter V6 engine and Xtronic transmission combination delivers responsive acceleration in a variety of conditions. The Xtronic holds the engine at the ideal rpm for the conditions at hand, offering responsive power for passing or towing when needed and quiet efficient running at cruising speeds or around town, with the new D-Step Logic adding the feel of a traditional stepped automatic
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with Easy-Fill Tire Alert
TPMS uses an icon on your dash to notify you when tires aren't properly inflated. On certain trims, the Advanced Drive-Assist® Display tells you which specific tires are low. As you fill your tires, Easy-Fill Tire Alert lets you know—with a friendly beep—when they've got enough air.
Smart Auto Headlights
Available Smart Auto Headlights turn on automatically in the dark, or after four swipes if you activate your wipers. They also know to switch on if you drive into a tunnel, but are clever enough to stay off in the shade. Pretty smart for headlights. You might even say brilliant.
Around View® Monitor (AVM)
Backing-up and parking is a snap with the available AVM. Four cameras create a virtual 360° image of your Pathfinder, then display it on the LCD monitor to help you see exactly how much room you've got behind you, in front of you, and even between you and the curb.
RearView Monitor and Rear Sonar System
The available RearView Monitor shows you what’s directly behind you, on the dash-mounted screen in front of you. It’s paired with an available Rear Sonar system that beeps when it senses an object up to six feet away— making it easier to park and back-up.
Blind Spot Warning (BSW)
Available BSW turns on a warning light if a vehicle is detected in the blind spot area, and sounds a warning tone if you signal to change lanes.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
When your Pathfinder is in Reverse, available Rear Cross Traffic Alert helps to warn you of moving vehicles approaching from either the left or the right side of the rear of your vehicle.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS)
When it detects oversteer or understeer, VDC can reduce engine power and apply brake pressure to specific wheels. Working with VDC, TCS can sense drive-wheel spin and reduce throttle to help keep you on your steered path.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
When you need to stop in a hurry, the Anti-lock Braking System pumps the brakes faster than you possibly can, helping to prevent wheel lockup and maintain steering control.
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist
Should you ever need to hit the brakes hard, Brake Assist will help you come to a quicker stop by applying maximum braking force. If you’ve got passengers or cargo in the back, EBD will detect the added weight, and send extra force to the rear brakes.
Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS)
The AABS includes dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors and an occupant classification sensor. Their inflation rate adjusts based on crash severity and seat belt usage.
Supplemental Air Bags
Built into the front seats, two side-impact supplemental air bags move with you as you adjust your seating position. Above, roofmounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensors help provide head protection for all three rows of outboard occupants.
LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children)
LATCH is another way we're working to keep children safe. The system lets you secure LATCH-compatible child restraints without having to use seat belts or a locking clip.
CLASS EXCLUSIVE Around View® Monitor
Using four cameras, the available class-exclusive Around View® Monitor (AVM) creates a composite image of the 2016 Pathfinder from above and displays it on the touch-screen monitor. This helps visually confirm the vehicle’s position relative to the lines around parking spaces and the adjacent objects displayed on the monitor, allowing the driver to maneuver into parking spots with more ease.
Tri-Zone Entertainment System
When the kids are happy, you are happy, and that’s where the available Tri-Zone Entertainment System comes in. Up front, the driver and passenger can enjoy music. 2nd-row passengers can watch movies, play video games, plug in a laptop, all on dual 7-inch DVD monitors, listening on two wireless headsets. The entire system can be controlled through the touch-screen display on the dash.
Nissan Navigation System
The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder is equipped with an available advanced Navigation System that gives you all the tools you need—like turn-by-turn voice guidance, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, [*] and available SiriusXM Satellite Radio —to make every trip a snap.
Advanced Drive-Assist Display
Keep your focus on what matters most—driving. Advanced Drive-Assist® Display is a 4.2-inch color monitor sitting right in front of you in the gauge cluster. The customizable, easy-to-read screen displays front and rear power ratios, the trip computer, tire pressure, fuel economy, external temperature, and much more.
Nissan Intelligent Key
With the available Nissan Intelligent Key®, you can unlock all four doors, open the power liftgate, and start the engine without taking the keys out of your pocket. It’s even smart enough to move the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and side-view mirrors to your pre-set positions.
Heated Steering Wheel
Old Man Winter never saw this one coming. Keep those mitts toasty even on the coldest days with an available class-exclusive heated steering wheel that warms up at the touch of a button.
Heated and Cooled Seats
Leather-appointed seats are not a lot of fun on a hot day, and not much better on a cold one. Pathfinder’s seats save you from stickiness by cooling down when it’s hot out, and warming up when it’s cold.
